Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of ‘Ravana’ in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, used to shoot the serial without eating or drinking anything. Also, before leaving the house, he used to worship ‘Shri Ram’ and apologize to him.

Arvind said that he was associated with theater in Gujarat. When he finds out that Ramanand Sagar is making ‘Ramayana’. Casting is underway, then came to Mumbai from Gujarat to audition. Actually, Arvind wanted the role of ‘Kewat’ in ‘Ramayana’.
‘Everyone wanted to cast actor Amrish Puri for the role of’ Ravana ‘in this serial. I had come for the role of ‘Kevat’, but when I started giving auditions, seeing my body language and attitude, Ramanand Sagar ji said, ‘I have found my Ravana’. ‘
By the way, let us know that Arun Govil has also admitted in an interview that Amrish Puri’s name was being considered for the role of ‘Ravana’, but he never appeared for the audition. Ramanand Sagar got his ‘Lankesh’ in Arvind Trivedi.
After seeing the role of ‘Ravana’ played by Arvind Trivedi, no one else is imagined in that role anymore. The broad forehead, the rage floating on his face and the thundering voice, brings to life the character of ‘Ravana’.
It is known to everyone that the shooting of ‘Ramayana’ was done at Umargam near the Gujarat-Maharashtra border. Arvind has also told about the problems related to the shooting.
Arvind further states, ‘I am a Rama-bhakta and Shiva-bhakta even in real life. So whenever I went to shoot, I would fast for the whole day, because I felt sad that according to the script given, I have to say exactly the opposite words to Shri Ram. Before the shooting started I used to worship Rama and Shiva and apologize to him. Then when the shooting was over, he would change clothes and open his fast at night. This would have been my routine during the shoot. ‘
